The burning sensation experienced during urination can be attributed to a urinary tract infection, more precisely of the bladder or urethra. Cystitis pains are
concentrated in the lower abdomen and usually appear before, during or after
urination. There is a frequent need to pass urine, and the urine itself is cloudy or
even bloody. Fever and chills may also be present. A urine analysis is needed to
confirm the diagnostic of a UTI. Consultation with a doctor is recommended when cystitis recurs repeatedly, when the person’s general health is poor, if there is fever and lower back pain, or if a urinary tract malformation is present.
JUNIPERUS : Juniper berries are principally used to treat urinary tract disorders such as chronic cystitis and nephritis and oliguria.
MERCURIUS CORROSIVUS : Corrosive sublimate of mercury is recommended in cases of chronic or acute cystitis and nephritis.
TEREBINTHINA : Turpentine is effective in treating acute cystitis and nephritis: scanty,
thick, muddy urine mixed with blood and albumin; hematuric tendency with dark foulsmelling
blood. Constant tenesmus. In nephritis, there is pain in the kidney area.
ACIDUM NITRICUM : Nitric acid acts positively in cases of cystitis and nephritis: dark urine with a hippuric smell. Urine feels cold when passing through urethra, burning and stinging sensation of the urethral meatus.
SABAL SERRULATA : Saw palmetto is recommended in cases of prostatism with chronic inflammation of the genito-urinary organs and sexual weakness.
THUYA: Tree of life is particularly effective in the treatment of chronic cystitis and nephritis, i.e. : inflammation of the urethra and vulvo-vaginal area with thick irritating greenish-yellow secretions; chronic tendancy; frequent and urgent need to pass urine; cutting pains in the urethra at the end of urination.
CANTHARIS : Cantharis is used as a liver and urinary tract cleanser. It is specified in the acute or sub-acute inflammation or irritation of the kidneys, bladder or urethra. Strong burning and cutting pains of the uretrha before, during and after urinating.
BELLADONNA : Deadly nightshade is used to treat inflammation of the urinary tract. Symptoms come on suddenly. Sharp pain and great sensitivity to the touch. Urgent need to pass urine; burning sensation; scanty urine; urine comes drop by drop.
CHELIDONIUM : Greater celandine is indicated in cases of hepato-biliary insufficiency.
DULCAMARA : Bittersweet is indicated in cases of acute cystitis and nephritis, and incontinence.
